Research

I specialize in all aspects of information hiding in digital imagery, including watermarking for authentication and tamper detection, self-embedding, robust watermarking, steganography and steganalysis, forensic analysis of digital images (detection of forgeries), advanced image processing and encryption techniques. My earlier research interests were in chaotic nonlinear dynamical systems and dynamical systems modeling.

I .work with a team of my graduate students at Binghamton University, focusing mostly on military research funded by the Air Force and other government agencies. I also collaborate with private companies, including Kodak, Wetstones Technologies, MRC, MTL, and others.
